Day two....

Day two…

We spend most of the day yesterday just hanging around the campsite, waiting for Sharelle and praying for no rain! We were thrilled that we had little rain so we got to take the children to the pool! Annabelle isn’t a big fan of the water yet but Addison and Craven loved it! Craven has no fear and it very used to the water. He would just jump right in as if he were home in the hot tub thinking he could touch but he couldn’t! Even then he didn’t panic but rather just held his breath and surfaced… I was impressed! Addison really enjoyed herself too, splashing and being tossed in the water by John. After 30 minutes or so, Annabelle finally let me put a lifejacket on her and she “swam” around the pool. Swimming, as in kicking around without anyone holding her… this was HUGE considering the prior 30 minutes she was stuck to us like…. As John would say…. A hobo on a ham sandwich! We hope to go back tomorrow…

We decided to head to the unclaimed baggage store a few miles down the road and see what goodies we could find. Sharelle was almost there so she stopped by on her way to the campground. I did find some good deals on girls clothing… and found 4 Hanna Andersson shirts, new with tags as well as some cute pants for Annabelle and a pair of Rocket Dog shoes for me! It was overwhelming to say the least. More stuff that you could ever imagine… everything from diamonds and wedding dresses to bras to bikes and ipods to toys and books to stationary… some was trash but some was new with tags.. I am not sure how that works but I was happy to get a few deals. We sent the boys back to the campground so Sharelle and I could shop without being rushed….

Last night, after dinner (shredded pork, corn on the cob and roasted zucchini) we spent the evening around the campfire with some Ft Campbell neighbors! One of the other tent/cabin campers is stationed at Ft Campbell as well and he, James, came by with his wife Danielle and we talked for several hours. It was really nice talking to them and we hope to let their two boys, 2 and 3, play with ours today at the playground. James in an artillery NCO and it was really fascinating hearing about that part of the army when all I really hear about is aviation. They also live just down the road from us so we might see them again at our neighborhood park! We were up really late so 6:30, our girls alarm clock, came too early!!

Today, the campground is serving free breakfast so we are waiting to enjoy some southern breakfast food and meet some of our other neighbors.

Today’s breakfast was really good! Fresh scrambled eggs, thick bacon, busicuts and gravy as well pancakes, coffee, sweet tea and juice! The grown ups enjoyed it while the children played at the playground. After breakfast we headed to the pool… first the one in our camp site (our little plastic pool) then to the big salt water one… I really like the salt water pool, no icky chlorine smell after and my skin isn’t dry from all the chemicals. It was a bit crowded but we really expected that considering it is the first day with some blue skies and sunshine.

I am here at the RV with Addison napping while everyone else is still playing at the pool. The BEST thing about the pool is it totally wares out Craven and Annabelle! 

We have taken photos of each day but can’t load them here as the wifi doesn’t allow downloads. I do have to say, the wifi isn’t very good here… So far, I have basically been unable to connect but for one time. Could be because we are on the far side of the grounds but regardless, it is not very good.

More to follow!
